Imtec Expands Capacity with Acquisition of California Advanced Technology (CAT)
Imtec Acculine LLC announced today that on October 1st, 2015, it has completed the acquisition of all of the related assets of California Advanced Technology (CAT). The assets acquired by Imtec in the acquisition include CAT’s customer base, machining & glass blowing equipment, and other related assets. Most of the CAT management and staff have also been hired by Imtec, and the operations of the CAT business will continue uninterrupted.
The acquisition was completed after thoroughly reviewing synergies that exist between the two companies. Beyond the cost savings of combining operations, Imtec extends its reach into the quartz boat and furnace tube market. Leveraging Imtec’s ISO 9001 certification and infrastructure, additional market share can be captured through current CAT customers, desiring tighter quality controls.
The consolidation of operating locations stands to be one of the more valuable synergies. Imtec plans to complete this move before the end of 2015 and is taking care in limiting interruptions to both operations.
